This book discusses the reasons why 60% of 20-29 year olds who went to church as kids/teens aren't going to church any more. Yes, you read that right, 60% of teens/kids that went to church aren't going as adults. Why? And can we stop this problem? You will just have to read the book to find out. I would suggest all teens and adults to read this book.

The Kingdom Series - by Chuck Black

I just finished this great set of books by Chuck Black called The Kingdom Series.

Their books that are set in the time of knights. But it takes you through the whole Bible. Of course you can't put EVERY story from the Bible into 6 small books, but you can put several very good stories from the Bible in the right order into 6 books. I enjoyed these greatly. There similar to C.S.Lewis' Narnia books. Because they are allegories. They look like just boy books, but they aren't. I would highly recommend them for boys and girls.

Henry and the Great Society

One of my favorite books is "Henry and the Great Society" by H.L.Roush. I read it this summer. It's about Henry the father to 3 kids and husband to a lovely wife. They live on a farm, don't have things like a T.V., electricity, running water inside, or a bath room inside! I know most of us can't even imagine living like this, but Henry and his family did and lived happy life's. They don't have a car instead they use a horse and buggy to get to town. They spend time with one another, talking to one another, reading together, walking through the fields, having picnics and just enjoying life the simple way. Then one day things start to change. Sales people quickly sell them all "the good things" in life like a T.V., running water inside, a washer machine, a car, etc. Henry quickly gets in debt. He can't pay for all this. His family is changing too. They no longer talk to one another, but just watch T.V.. Henry's wife is always busy now with shopping, helping with this, going here, etc. Henry has to get a better job because working the farm isn't giving him enough money to pay all his bills. He is having to work long hours now and isn't sleeping well anymore. He hardly has time to spend with his wife. Slowly all "the good things" in life that he bought are braking. His kids don't want to spend time with him, they want to watch the T.V.. Henry don't know how he can fix all of this. Can he get his life back in order? Or will it never get better? You will have to read this book to find out! (I just love leaving you hanging!) :-)

I Came to Love You Late

This summer I read a book called "I Came to Love You Late". I really loved it. It is a fictional story about Martha and Mary (the Martha and Mary from the Bible). It was a great look at what they might of felt and thought. I would highly recommend this book to girls that love God, his word (the Bible), fiction stories, and the story of Martha and Mary.

The Screwtape Letters

I finished C.S.Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters". It's all letters from Screwtape (a advanced Devil) to his nephew Woodworm (a younger Devil). Screwtape writes to Woodworm telling him how to tempt his person (the human he is trying to tempt away from God and what is right). It is an interesting view on maybe what Satan and his Fallen Angels try to tempt us with and how they tempt us. I really enjoyed it and it is one of thoughs books that you might have to read a couple of times so you can understand it all.

Great History/Christian/Missionary books

My family loves these two sets of books. They're called "Christian Heroes: Then & Now" and "Heroes of History". They are the from YWAM Publishing. I haven't read all of them, but all of the ones I have read I loved. My favorite is "Lillian Trasher: The Greatest Wonder in Egypt". I just finished "Meriwether Lewis: Off the Edge of the Map" and am currently reading "Amy Carmichael: Rescuer of Precious Gems". Check them out!

More Than A Carpenter

I just finished More Than A Carpenter the other day. It's a great book. Josh McDowell (the author) actually wrote it after he tried to find proof that Jesus wasn't God's Son, because when he tried to find the proof he needed it wasn't there. Instead he found the opposite, that Jesus was God's Son as a man on earth to save his people from their sin. He found so much evidence that he wrote the book More Than A Carpenter. It was an excellent book and I would recommed it to all christians and also none christians. I think if a none christian read it that person would be a christian, or want to be a christian, by the end of the book.
